It is with great sadness that the family of James Douglas Petty announces his passing on December 2, 2018 in Santa Fe, NM at the age of 42.
Born to Kathy L. Sprague and Edward E. Sprague, Sr. on February 8, 1976 in Chanute, KS he attended Girard High School and served in the US Army from 1994 to 1995. A welder and jack-of-all-trades, James was known in the community for his skill, sense of humor and willingness to help.
James is survived by his daughter Madeline R. Petty and her mother Marina Ybarra; brother Edward E. Sprague, Jr.; sisters Tammy S. Rahe and Tiffany L. Sprague; grandmothers Sylvia Petty and Oletha Cannon; aunts Connie McCormick, Sherry Moore, Virginia Jordan, Becky Fin and Dee Etta Redmon; uncles Warren Petty, Robert Petty, Leon Cannon, Don Sprague, Elgie (Sonny) Sprague and Byron Sprague, Sr. as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is now reunited with his loved ones who preceded him in death- his son Justin Petty, mother Kathy, grandfathers Robert Petty and Archie Cannon, aunts Debra J. Hockett (Petty), Lisa J. Myers (Cannon), Karen Sprague, Sharon Webb and Dorothy Fry.
Friends, family and acquaintances are invited to attend the celebration of life services that will take place in both Santa Fe, NM and Chanute, KS at dates to be announced.
